Description |
Cannot exit the Deal Records screen.
|
Symptoms |
Cannot exit the Deal Records screen. When user clicks the 'Done' button the program attempts to unload the Deal Records screen but then it just pops back up. The only way to exit the program is to 'End Task' it. This may bee unrelated but this particular PC was a fresh install and for some reason it was a client install that ended up with the databases in the application directory. We deleted the DB's and correctly mapped the network drive and browsed to the databases. Everything seemed fine but then the end user called back minutes later reporting this problem.

Cause |
It is believed that the problem is related to how the program keeps track of the active company with in the Windows Registry. After deleting the sample databases the program was still thinking that the active company was 'Sample Motor Sales' instead of the company in the database that we had browsed to.

Solution |
We solved the problem by going into the program and first verifying the database and the going into 'System Data' and setting the active company to the company in the database. As soon as we got the message "The new active company is..." the program was now acting normal.
