Description Cannot access CAR_PRO from client machine on network.
Symptoms User cannot access the application over the network from a client PC. User also received a message "Error 3051 Could not open database" or "Database is already open exclusively". The user eventually ended up on the License Configuration screen but could not display a site code.
Cause This problem can occur when the client PC is not mapped properly, the user had browsed to the Host database through the Neighborhood Network instead of a mapped drive. For CAR_PRO to work properly the Host hard drive must be mapped as a drive letter on the client machine.
Solution Follow the directions below to make sure the Host drive is mapped correctly: Right click on the Network Neighborhood icon and choose "Map Network Drive". This will bring up a mapping dialog. In the "Path" combo click the down arrow and select the choice which represents the path to your CAR_PRO Host PC. Next check the "Reconnect at logon" box and click Ok. If you don't receive any errors then you are properly mapped. Once the drive is mapped you will need to tell the Client PC where the CAR_PRO database can be found. This is done from the "Networking" screen. Click the "Browse" button and browse to the Host database through the mapped drive letter.
