Symptoms When trying to access CAR_PRO the user gets the message "Could not communicate with the CAR_PRO server! Make sure CPServer is running on the host machine and that the network connection is available!". This potential problem can only occur in versions higher then 2000.03 because it has to do with the newer CPServer licensing technology.
Cause This problem is caused when CAR_PRO cannot read the licensing information which is passed from CPServer. It is still not known why some PC's cannot read certain Code Sets.
Solution To solve this problem follow the steps noted below: 1) Exit any CAR_PRO screens that may be running. 2) Right click on the CPServer icon, located in the System Tray near the clock, and choose "Server Code Set". Then click "Yes" to the following dialog. 3) Change the Code Set form "A" to "D" and check the box "Destroy license on exit" and click done. 4) If the CPServer icon is still visible in the Tray then right click on it and choose "Stop Service". 5) Then restart CAR_PRO and obtain a new license. This will generally fix the problem permanently, however if the problem still persists then you can repeat the steps using one of the other Code Sets.
