Description User with Windows 2000 gets connection error message and must click "Retry" many time to gain access to CAR_PRO.
Symptoms User with Windows 2000 gets connection error message and must click "Retry" many time to gain access to CAR_PRO. The licensing information is displayed but then the error message pops up. (Note: the problem has also been reported with Windows 95/98 as well)
Cause This problem is caused by a port conflict. The CPServer application which handles CAR_PRO licensing uses port 1125 by default.
Solution This problem can be solved by changing the listening port. Follow these instructions: Exit CAR_PRO if it is running. Right click on the CPServer icon in the system tray (host PC only) and choose "Change Port". Enter the new port value (try 2000 to start) and click Ok. Now try to go back into CAR_PRO and when it times out enter the new port value and click "Retry".
