Description |
Cannot access the program... Program Not Authorized [3]! message.
|
Symptoms |
With 90+ days remaining on license then end user could not access the program. Instead they got the "Program Not Authorized [3]!" message. This user has several PC's networked with a NT Server and they noticed that they had two CPServer (butler's) running in the tray of the host machine.
|
Cause |
Somehow in on of the updates a second shortcut to CPServer was placed in their Startup folder which was causing a second instance of CPServer to start. This was causing a conflict and preventing entry into the application.
|
Solution |
On NT there may be multiple Startup folders so use the Windows File Finder utility to locate the extra reference to CPServer and delete it (you will have to first "Stop Service" on CPServer). After you have completed this task you can re-start CPServer and everything should be back to normal.
